Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to read, use and enjoy Roadster Now, whatever their ability or the technology they use. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we’ve done
- Semantic HTML with landmarks and a logical heading structure, plus a “Skip to content” link on every page.
- Every interactive element works with a keyboard and shows a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Body text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background.
- Animations respect your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, and nothing on the Site autoplays sound or video.
- The scrolling text band moves only as you scroll, never on its own, and is hidden from screen readers.
- Photographs have descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are announced next to the field they relate to.
- Layouts adapt down to 320 pixels wide and support browser zoom up to 400% without loss of content.
- Touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels wherever practical.
Known limitations
- The roadster line drawing in the Anatomy section is visual. All of the information it conveys is also available in the text list next to it.
- The history timeline scrolls horizontally. Use the Previous and Next buttons, or focus the timeline and use the arrow keys.
- Some historical photographs show details that are difficult to describe fully in alternative text.
Compatibility
The Site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge — and with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. It is not designed for browsers that are no longer supported by their makers.
How we assess accessibility
We evaluate the Site through self-assessment, including keyboard-only testing, automated checks and manual review against WCAG 2.2 success criteria. We review accessibility whenever we add new features.
Feedback and help
If you run into a barrier, or need content in a different format, please email [email protected] with the subject line “Accessibility.” Tell us the page and what happened, and we will aim to respond within five business days.
